Bordeaux 2013: Our selection of wines

Explore our selection of wines that are from the small 2013 vintage. If the sweet whites (Sauternes, Barsac..) and dry whites (Bordeaux..) were at their best level, it was one of the smaller year since a long time for the red wines in Bordeaux. The main problem was a lack of sunshine between January and June, lack of sunshine that has not been saved by a medium summer and a small piece of sunshine in september that has been continued by rain during the harvest. The result is that the producers were not able to harvest mature grapes with good concentration. 2013 red wines are mainly light to medium bodied with a high acidity level that is not supported by the tanins. The final result is a lot of wines that you have to wait because of the acidity level, but that you can't wait too long because of the low to medium tanins that are not capable to be kept long. Some wines were not so bad because of the good know-how of the producers and because of their hard work in the vineyard and in the cellars.
