Via Vinum

A family business

2005: creation of the company

The history of this family-owned French trading company began in 2005 under the leadership of Isabelle Lassalle-Cherbonneau. This great lady of wine started at a time (80s) when women were less present in the world of wine, and, with time and work, she acquired a great experience of export after a brilliant career for big Bordeaux trading houses.
By challenge, and by passion for the traditional distribution market, Isabelle decided to embark on her own trading structure with the support of loyal customers as well as of the Grands Domaines who trusted her.
After very good export results, Isabelle decided to open a shop window to share her passion and her favorites with wine lovers. The cellar opened its doors the following year, in a charming stone house, in the heart of the village of Saint-Julien.
Via Vinum is today a direct beneficiary of the largest estates in the region (Château Cheval Blanc, Château Léoville Las-Cases, Château Smith Haut-Lafitte ...) but also takes great care in always looking for the right small producers. So our team travels all year round the Bordeaux vineyards in search of new winegrowers, to taste the latest vintage, to look for new things. Our goal is to offer a range that can appeal to the greatest number in all price ranges.

A family business

After studies in Management, Isabelle's son decided to start a family business afterwards. a professional internship at Via Vinum which was for him a revelation.

Mathieu then started his discovery of the wines of the region, the culture of wine, the importance of the coast. human that is found behind every great wine. He was oriented by many actors in the world of wine (Cellar masters, winemakers ...).
The company; then starts a development of its sales to individuals in France and in certain EU and non EU countries via the website in parallel with the development of the export. The figure of our activity is thus 90% of sales to foreign importers, and 10% of sales to individuals (including 80% in France for individuals).

Wine exports and events

Via Vinum presents a full range of wines selected in all price ranges, at numerous European and worldwide trade fairs dedicated to professionals throughout the year. These meetings offer the relevance of our selections in contact with importers, and to do over time if we find that certain wines are less pleasant to professionals and individuals. We regularly taste the wines of our selections, each vintage being tasted during early tastings or at the property in the presence of the winemaker.
Just as we attach particular importance to the quality of our wines, we attach great importance to finding quality distributors for the producers we represent. Our exports are 100% on the traditional market.
